BirthPeter Wren was born circa 1820 at Mohill Civil Parish, Co Leitrim, Ireland. Peter's year of birth is inferred from his obituary from 1866 which stated he was then 46. It also stated he was a native of the Parish of Mohill, Co Leitrim.
While this could mean either the Civil Parish or the Catholic Parish of that name, to my mind Catholics would consider themselves as belonging to the Catholic parish from which they came. For example Cloone Civil Parish contained the Catholic Parishes of Cloone, Aghavas and Gortletteragh. Catholics from the Gortletteragh part were more likely to declare they came from Gortletteragh. Mohill Civil Parish has Mohill and Bornacoola Catholic Parishes. In my view, when in notices people were referred to as from Mohill Parish it is more likely they meant the Catholic portion of Mohill Civil Parish.

Not sure whether weddings often took place at home at this time though I think not, or whether there were unusual circumstances involved (first child seemingly is born a full 9 months after the marriage so it does not appear to be pregnancy, perhaps consanguinity? ?)"

Before marriage Thomas Boyle was a Shopkeeper in Drumshanbo while Mary Doyle was a National School Teacher living in Drumshanbo. Given her stated age of 21 at marriage and that her father was named Alexander Doyle (of whose name I can find only one relevant instance in Co Leitrim records) I am asserting the woman who married Boyle was the Mary or Maria daughter of Alexander of Laheen South.
The witnesses were Michael Griffin and Katie A Doyle. This latter name is the only cause for unease. While Mary Doyle had a sister Catherine she was born in 1872 and was thus just 13 when this marriage occurred. Could she have legally been a witness? If it's not this sister then I do not know who this female witness could be.
