| Birth | Peter Diffley was born circa 1816 at Ireland. Peter was born long before the earliest surviving parish records of Bornacoola. He held his land in Meelragh Saggart by 1857 and there was no other Diffley in the townland. There is no record of any his parents' deaths in Meelragh after 1864. His lands were rented from the Earl of Granard and no rent records of that estate survive. Therefore we cannot identify his parents or seek his baptismal record. |
