Church Burial Records
Few of Leitrim's Catholic Parishes have burial registers in the public domain. For details on those that do see my book Tracing Your Leitrim Ancestors or else look online on www.rootsireland.ie. Church of Ireland Parish Registers usually do include Burials and again look on either of the above links for specific parish details.
What is recorded in Burial Registers, especially Catholic ones, is a date of burial, and the date of death may not always be shown. In some cases in this data collection, where a church burial entry has been found, I have taken the date of burial as that of death, though in reality it is likely to have been at least one day earlier.
