| Marriage | James Sheridan married Marcella Diffley, daughter of Thomas Diffley and Mary McGarry, on 11 Nov 1897 at Bornacoola R.C. Church, Knockadrinan, Mohill Civil Parish, Co Leitrim, Ireland. Marcella's residence is given simply as Bornacoola on the Civil Record while the church record transcription gives Clooncageeher townland. But there is no such place, and it could be that somebody got mixed up between Clooncarne and Cloonageeher. In any event there is no other Marcella Diffley baptism, birth or marriage noted, so on balance I think it likely this is the correct woman. The witnesses were James Loughan (?) and Ellie McGarry. |
